CITY OF SAN FERNANDO,PAMPANGA-In celebration of the annual Family Planning Month held every August, the Commission on Population and Development Region III (POPCOM III) spearheaded various activities through the help of its regional and local partners that would link demand generation to service delivery.
For this year’s Family Planning Month with the theme “Usap Tayo sa Family Planning Atbp.”, according to POPCOM III Regional Director Lourdes P. Nacionales, “we ensure that every couple will be able to avail the different modern family planning methods of their choice in their locality even during this pandemic.”
RD Nacionales also stated that “local population offices together with their hardworking officers and workers continue to provide demand generation activities and referral to our service delivery network.”
RD Nacionales said that through the signing of Memorandum of Agreement/Understanding between POPCOM III and the 7 provinces and 2 Highly Urbanized Cities along with the 10 component cities and municipalities, the provision of family planning services was made possible because of the stronger and full implementation of the National Program on Population and Family Planning in the local level.
Moreover, POPCOM III continues to collaborate with different Regional Line Agencies by also entering into partnership agreements that focus on convergence of programs and projects that are people centered and will have greater beneficial impacts for couples, adults, and adolescents.
RD Nacionales also mentioned that POPCOM III will once again conduct a free Non-Scalpel Vasectomy this year (with the first was held last June) once the community quarantine eases to ensure the safety of both the itinerant team and the patients.
In view of the foregoing different classification of quarantines in the region, clients and other concerned citizens can still reach POPCOM III for any questions and concerns regarding family planning through its FP Helpline: 0943-572-9488 or 0917-132-5122 and Facebook Page: @POPCOM3.
